Dus vandaar dat ik Feyenoord helaas snel weinig kans geeft omdat ik wel realistisch wil blijven en niet met valse hoop weer elke wedstrijd ingaan. Daarom heb ik er zoveel moeite mee als er spelers in staan die kwalitatief er gewoon niet in thuis horen. Dan zie ik liever een jongere speler erin komen ipv dat men een transfervrije speler gaat halen en zo kan ik wel doorgaan met alles wat er allemaal mis is. |

Kuban Krasnodar Season Preview

INTRO: The emergence of the Yellow-Green side from Krasnodar last season has wowed many critics and attracted admiration from neutrals. Clinching the European spot on the last day has realized what was an impossible dream for the club and supporters. The celebration after the win against mega-rich Anzhi summed up a happy outing for Kuban.
However, the victory does not come cheap. Being excellent for almost the whole season, led to several key players being chased by big clubs. As the transfer window just started to heat up, hugely talented Alexey Ionov was snatched up by Anzhi following his first national team call-up. The clubs experienced gaffer Leonid Kuchuk also left for more lucrative Lokomotiv, despite the promise of European football in Kuban next season.
GREATEST STRENGTH: Last season saw Kuban play fluid, attractive football, as Kuchuk built a fine defensive unit and rallied the team on the flank during counter attacks. Their midfielders have been in top form, controlling play even against bigger opponents such as Zenit. However, the losses of Ionov and Kulik create a big hole in the midfield, which has been the greatest element in their success. It will be interesting to see how Dorinel Munteanu utilizes the remaining players, especially Aras Ozbiliz and Ivelin Popov and who he will sign to play in the middle of the field.
GREATEST WEAKNESS: A new coach and the loss of their key players will be a huge challenge for the club. The gaffer has a big job to do, to continue the development of the promising Popov up front, with much more experienced Balde and newly-signed Cisse competing for the starting spot. And a new coach means new tactics, with Munteanu tending to employ a more defensive approach during his rough time at Mordovia last season. Hell also have to keep the midfield compact, by keeping Kabore and signing a new playmaker, in addition to the talented Ignatiev.
KEY PLAYERS: Djibril Cisses signing proved Munteanus ambition to do well in Europe this season. If he is used wisely (and kept under control), he will be helpful for Kuban this season. His wealth of experience, in addition to his decent finishing and smart decision making on runs and placing, will be perfect for the supplying back line. But only by controlling his temper, better discipline and fewer injuries, of course. And it is key for the coach that his latest signing link well with both of his top scorers last year, Popov and Ozbiliz.
And nobody could deny that Aleksander Belenov was the most important player for the team last season. He looks an even better bet by some critics for national team compared to more experienced Gabulov and Shunin. Theres no doubt that if he continues to play well, he will get a call-up. He plays the pivotal role again for the Yellow-Green this season.
Worth mentioning: Kozlov, Kabore, Ozbiliz, Popov.
DEPARTURES/TRANSFER REVIEW: The losses of Kuchuk, Ionov, Kulik and Pizzelli mean Kuban have lost their creative midfielder pack and a well-experienced manager which were crucial elements in reaching Europe. The signing of Ignatiev and First Division star Bezlikhotnov has been viewed as direct replacements for Ionov and Kulik, while the addition of former Liverpool and French international Djibrill Cisse is seen as a desperate measure by the new coach to add some experience and spice in Kubans attack. It is vital, too, for them to hold on to to the rest of their players, especially goalkeeper Belenov, latest Russian international Kozlov, highly talented Armenian Aras Ozbiliz and Charles Kabore.
BEST CASE SCENARIO FOR THE SEASON: Kuban could challenge for European spots again if everything goes according to plan. Even though a number of players have left, they still have promising players like Ozbiliz, Sosnin and Popov in their ranks. And if Cisse finds his feet again in Russia, it will be a good season for Kuban, not only in the domestic league, but also in continental competition.
WORST CASE SCENARIO FOR THE SEASON: The European challenge may have been the best award for Kuban so far, but it could prove too costly for them, too. Lack of experience and competing on three fronts in a single season may cost them fatigue and injuries. If they ever make it to the further stage in Europe, it will be hard for them to perform consistently in the league, too. And if everything goes wrong with their signing, they could well end up in the bottom half of the table. Plus if Ozbiliz, Kabore or Kozlov ever leave, it will be hard for the team to replace them.
INTERESTING FACTS: FC Kuban is one of the oldest football clubs in Russia, tracing its history to the founding of Dynamo by the Krasnodar NKVD, then repeatedly changing institutional affiliation based on political expediency in the USSR.
All members of the club and the fans are called kubantsy (the historic name for the area around Krasnodar is also Kuban), or yellow-green (according to the official club colours).
Kuban is well-known for the changing its head coach. Their managerial post changed over 25 times from 1992 to 2008. And even last season they had three of then. They started last season with Dan Petrescu as manager. However, he resigned on August 14, 2012, to take over as Dynamo Moscow manager. He was replaced by Yuri Krasnozhan, who himself was fired on January 9, 2013, after just five months in charge due to irreconcilable differences with the owners. He was replaced by Leonid Kuchuk, who came from Arsenal Kiev.
Kuban win over 3rd-place Anzhi on the last day, with a single goal from Bulgarian forward Ivelin Popov, allowed them to finish the league in 5th, Kubans best position in the Russian League. Kuban also qualified for the UEFA Europe League for the first time. At the end of the 2012-13 season, the team had the highest home-game attendance in the league, and broke the home attendance record with 313,997 spectators in 15 matches.
KEY EARLY-SEASON FIXTURE: Rubins visit is a tough test for the debuting Dorinel Munteanu. They must get the right result, coupled with must-win points in away match at Tom, to get themselves in a better mood to play Zenit in Week 3 on the road.
SEASON PREDICTION: 6th-9th, a middle of the table finish will be most likely for the first season of Munteanus reign. They will have difficulties in adjusting to the new system and signings, but, nonetheless, quality players are still there for Kuban. They could do better, at least break their 1/8 jinx in the Russian Cup.

Maar zoals jij zeg : Op naar zondag ... En ik hoop van harte dat er bij Feyenoord de juiste mentaliteit en instelling komt om ook goed te kunnen presteren buiten de kuip ...

Feyenoord krijgt in de play-offronde van de Europa League te maken met Kuban Krasnodar. Voor de Rotterdammers is het een nieuwe kans om, in ieder geval tot de winterstop, zeker te zijn van deelname aan een Europese competitie. Vorig seizoen ging het eerst mis tegen Dynamo Kiev en vervolgens tegen Sparta Praag: Kuban is echter ook geen eenvoudige tegenstander.
De Russen eindigden vorig seizoen knap als vijfde achter het geweld van de grote en rijke andere clubs in de Premjer Liga. Zodoende mocht men naar de derde voorronde van de Europa League en daarin werd Motherwell met 0-2 (in Schotland) en 1-0 (in Rusland) opzij gezet. Verdediger Artem Fidler zegt dat zijn team ook de wedstrijden tegen Feyenoord met vertrouwen tegemoet treedt.
Feyenoord is een traditierijke en sterke club, maar dat zijn wij net zo goed, zegt de geroutineerde achterhoedespeler. Hij is bezig aan zijn derde seizoen bij Kuban. Ik denk dat dit een hele interessante tweestrijd zal worden. Natuurlijk zijn de Nederlanders favoriet, maar wij maken zeker kans. We hebben een goed elftal met sterke spelers. We gaan het gevecht aan en ik hoop dat er dan een resultaat komt.

Maar ik begin een beetje te denken dat je liever niet voor Feyenoord ben..
Zo liet je elders blijken dat je supporter van Feyenoord zijn als een lijdensweg ervaart.. Nou ik niet, ik ben trots op de club! Ja af en toe teleurstellend, maar dat weegt niet op tegen het Feyenoorder zijn |
